On October 1st our English teacher Prof. Deborah Kamil und Prof. Gerda Sengstbratl took us to a meeting at the UN, Vienna International Centre. The presentation was about “How to Transmit a positive Image of Older Persons” and “Active Ageing in a Society of all Ages”.
The presentation and the discussions were really interesting, even if we didn’t say anything at first. But then each of us read our texts about “Relationships Between the Generations” out loudly. The other participants were really impressed. They later asked us at the buffet if we attended an international school and where we had learnt English so well.
It was a great experience and I’m really happy that I went there.

On 1 October 2015 seven girls, joined a United Nations meeting to celebrate the 25th International Day of Older Persons. In the 2 hour meeting some key aspects on „How to Transmit a Positive Image of Older Persons“ were discussed. Professor Kamil was the one, who had the idea, that it would be a good idea to bring some of her students with her, in order to let the attendants from the UN hear how they think about this topic. Everyone had the opportunity to tell their personal story about their relationship with elderly people. These had „Generation Gap“ as a theme, but from the younger people´s point of view, which is really rare.
